I am Alive, at least according to West Virginia!

The Great State of Wild and Wonderful has finally relented!!!  In today's mail was my birth certificate!!!  The first copy the document that actually gives me a name is now in my possession. Never mind that my grandfather, know to all the Hill grandchildren as "Pap" and whose given name was Romeo, objected to my parents giving me the name, and his nickname, Romey, there it is, in black and sort of official bluish white.

What's next you ponder, wonder, and may even ask?  A US passport for one, including one of those cool new passport cards which should soon be the one true mark of all us natural born or otherwise naturalized United States type of Americans.  Trust me it's coming, just check the website of your local Secretary of State, almost any state.

A maybe a return visit to Canada, I don't want to wander too far from the lower 48.

At least when I'm next at a peace rally or School of the Americas gathering, I can waive an official document indicating that, yes, indeed, I am from this country.
