Shopping trip

Life has been hectic of late. Work has been amazingly busy and shifting. Studs Terkel died It's been colder than normal and I needed an auxiliary source of heat. I couldn't do anything about the first two, so I went shopping to handle the third thing. After a trip to and around the great shopping Mecca that is the west side of Macon, I found a portable micathermic heater. Sounds cool, doesn't it. I have cross country skis from the 80's that have mica on them.

During the trip I eavesdropped on Garrison Keillors' reminisience about Studs and was very moved. I also got to hear Steven Pinker discuss language and cognitions for three hours on In Depth on C-Span 2. It replays Saturday at 9 a.m. I taped it incase you want to watch it. Just let me know.

That's about it, except for this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPBiXHGQP2U to a tribute by Steh Myers to Myron Cope, who passed away this year. It's been a long year, full of loss.
